elxcfg Installs, but HBAnyware Does Not

Situation:

You have a compatible Emulex host bus adapter installed and are running a previous version of the FC Port driver for Windows 2000 (version 5-2.13a4 or older) or Windows NT (version 4-2.13a4 or older). You run setupapps.exe (from the latest driver package) to install the driver utilities, the installation wizard attempts to install the utilities. Ultimately the following message appears:

"Error 1920.Service Emulex HBAnyware (Emulex HBAnyware) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system devices."

The Emulex configuration utility, elxcfg, installs, but HBAnyware does not.

The FC Port driver version 2.20a12 or later must be installed before you install the utilities. HBAnyware is not compatible with versions of the FC Port driver older than 2.20a12.

Resolution:

Perform the installation tasks in the following order:

Install version 2.20a12 or later of the FC Port driver (see the online Installation manual).
Install the utilities (see the online Installation manual).
